Good Faith Estimate

The above rates are standard and will not be changed without notice. Clients often meet weekly, every other week, or schedule as needed. Together, we schedule sessions according to your needs, and you will never be charged without your knowledge.

You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical and mental health care will cost. Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the expected charges for medical services, including psychotherapy services. For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises.

Frequently Asked Questions

What can I expect at my first session?

  • During the first session I will ask you some questions about what brings you to reach out for support, therapy, and counseling.  It is an opportunity to ask questions and to explore what our work together will encompass for you. We will identify goals and create a plan for our therapy sessions.

What is the duration of our work together?

  • Introspection and therapy is a personal journey and there is no definitive timeline.  Some situations are able to be resolved in as few as three sessions.  Others require long term work.  My recommendation is to give yourself and the supportive sessions a chance - and to commit to a series of five sessions.  At minimum I recommend three sessions to allow for discovery, progress and resolution. We will work together to determine your plan for therapy and identify when your goals are met.

Why art therapy?

  • Sometimes it is difficult to express how we are feeling.  Sometimes we don’t have the words.  Sometimes we don’t even know where to begin.  Art Therapy is a modality that uses art as a means of identification and expression of emotions.  Art making can allow an individual to increase self awareness while developing skills to cope with symptoms and stress.  It is a life-affirming process.

What if I am not an artist?

  • This is a very common concern.  It is important to identify that Art Therapy is about the process of making art and reflecting on what we have made.  There are no judgments and we never describe art as  ‘good’ art or ‘bad’ art.  Everyone can benefit and I have never met someone who wasn’t a candidate for art therapy.

What is cognitive behavioral therapy?

  • “Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) is a psychotherapy that has been shown to be effective in over 2,000 research studies. It is a time-sensitive, structured, present-oriented psychotherapy that helps individuals identify goals that are most important to them and overcome obstacles that get in the way. CBT helps people get better and stay better.” - Beck Institute for Cognitive Behavioral Therapy.
